Project Overview
Restoring A Local Landmark
One of Little Rock’s oldest continually operating churches was in dire need of restoring the original hand-carved rose window details in the sanctuary of their church. The church, originally built in the 1890s, sits in the heart of downtown Little Rock and is a cherished local landmark. 100+ years of paint, Arkansas weather, and environmental factors were rapidly eating away at the original wood trim.

Design Challenge
Timeless Craftsmanship, Modern Methods
In order to preserve the delicate original stained glass, we were asked to re-fabricate the wood window trim and ornamentation exactly as it had been originally carved. Each piece was numbered at the job site, then dismantled and brought to our shop.
What followed was a months-long journey of 3D modeling each piece, carefully test fitting the new pieces against the old, and constructing the entire window like a three-dimensional puzzle to ensure a perfect fit.
The pieces that were originally carved by hand were replaced with near-perfect copies created using modern manufacturing technology, even preserving the asymmetry and unique marks of the original craftsmen. Now complete, there’s
no evidence that the window was replaced and the original stained glass fits perfectly for the next century of use.
Behind the Finished Work
From Rough Material to Resolved Detail
The century-old trim was carefully disassembled, numbered, and brought to the shop. Damaged elements were reconstructed digitally and physically so new components could be fabricated and test-fitted against the originals.
