CNC machining equipment in the CRMM shop

CNC Manufacturing for Prototypes, Components & Short Runs

CRMM combines digital modeling with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining for complex wood parts and appropriate plastics, foams, composites, and select nonferrous materials—subject to file, material, tolerance, and tooling review.

From file to finished component

A successful manufacturing handoff defines geometry, units, datum, critical dimensions, tolerances, material, finish, quantity, inspection, and intent. We can review existing files or help develop manufacturable geometry when design support is included.

Our CNC work is centered on hardwoods, softwoods, plywood, and engineered wood products. Typical applications include cabinetry components, patterns, architectural elements, custom parts, and matched replacements for spindles, balusters, turnings, porch posts, and other historic wood components.

Three-axis and five-axis equipment supports flat components, profiled work, carving, and multi-surface geometry. The appropriate setup depends on part geometry, material, tolerances, quantity, finish requirements, and inspection criteria.

In addition to wood products, we can evaluate plastics, foam, composites, and select non-ferrous metals. Material suitability is confirmed during scope review based on geometry, strength, weight, appearance, finish, and quantity.

Projects may begin with production-ready CAD, drawings, a sample part, or a rough concept. We review geometry, units, datum, critical dimensions, tolerances, material, finish, quantity, inspection, and intent before manufacturing begins.
