That’s why we’re thrilled to share the exciting transformation happening at our new home: the historic KC Baking Powder Building at 3401 E Broadway St in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Restoring History

The KC Baking Powder Building, built in 1948, was a key hub of industrial innovation and economic activity in North Little Rock's Rose City neighborhood. Today, we are restoring this historic landmark to preserve it for future generations and pursuing its placement on the National Historic Register to honor its architectural and cultural significance.

Located at 3401 E. Broadway, the building exemplifies mid-20th-century industrial manufacturing. Designed by Brueggurman, Swaim, and Allen and constructed by Linebarger Construction Company for Jacques Manufacturing, it embodies the International Style—popular from post-WWI to the 1970s—with its focus on volume over mass, lightweight industrial materials, absence of ornament and color, repetitive modular forms, and flat surfaces alternating with glass.

Revitalizing Rose City

This renovation is about more than restoring a building—it’s about revitalizing a neighborhood. The KC Baking Powder Building is a cornerstone of the Rose City community, and its restoration represents a new chapter of growth and renewal. By preserving this iconic structure, we’re helping to spark a resurgence of pride, investment, and opportunity in the area. We believe that revitalization starts with respect for the past. Our renovation efforts are designed to honor the building’s original character while adapting it for modern use. From preserving its historic brickwork to restoring its timeless architectural features, every detail is approached with care and craftsmanship.

The Next 75 Years

As we restore the KC Baking Powder Building, we’re also preparing it for the future. Our vision is to create a space that reflects the innovation and artistry of Cache River Mill & MetalWorks. Once completed, this building will serve as a hub for creativity, collaboration, and community engagement.
